March 2023

An excerpt from this month’s newsletter. The full newsletter is available at the bottom of this post.

We thank God for being our refuge and strength, our very present help in the midst of all our chaos and turmoil that has been going on for too long. We went to Him in prayer crying for help; our voice has not yet been heard. Today we are still waiting on Him for a miracle. Though our little world seems to scramble around us and our nation is approaching the abyss.

Still we have good reasons to praise Him. We praise Him for the air we breathe and for his everyday provision that sustains us. We also praise God for great friends and loving supporters like you for your heartfelt prayers and your ongoing financial support during this time of crisis. Our heart is breaking as we are writing this newsletter. We wish we could tell you things are going great and somehow, we have found a way to solve our political differences. To tell you our nation is finally taking the turn for the best. Unfortunately, this is not yet the case. Our glorious days seem to be something of the past; the ship which is our country is slowly sinking deeper and deeper every day. Today more territories are falling under the control of the gangs in the center of Port-au-Prince. The gangs are constantly terrorizing the inhabitants of Port-Au-Prince namely: Bel Air, Saint Martin, Solino and Bas-Delmas, Lasaline and Croix-des-Bouquets to name but a few. They seem to be present everywhere and they bring death and bloodshed along their path. Consequently massive numbers of people are desperately fleeing their homes in search of safe havens. Meanwhile the government is doing absolutely nothing to solve the dilemma. We are assisting powerless the decline of our beloved nation. The article Brother Spaulding sent out last month has been well documented and reported in gross details the nightmare. The author went all the way to the bottom of the well, and the truth is finally coming out: our elected officials are digging our own grave.
